Today one colleague saw one train with trolleybuses which came from Dragoman direction Sofia and he sad me that there were 15 trolleybuses which were second hand and articulated. Do you think that they're for us or no?

Hi to all of you.
First a few words about me. I am a trolleybus fan and I live in Liege in Belgium, a city which had a very important trolleybus network from 1939 until 1971. In 1971, it was decided to replace trolleybus by bus.

The only remaining trolleybus line of our country was in Ghent (150 km from where I live). This trolleybus line, opened in 1989 was closed in june 2009.

The 15 trolleybus coming to Plovdiv have been used in the city of Ghent for 20 years. When the line opened in 1989, there were 20 vehicles build by Van Hool. The type is AG280T. Five years ago, two vehicles were damaged and never repaired. So there were only 18 vehicles remaining in use. Now after the closure of the line, one vehicle (number 10) has been chosen to become a (running) museum-trolleybus, number 11 has been purchased by a private person also to keep as a running museum-trolleybus. Number 10 has been purchased by a french museum near Marseille.

I forgot to tell you that this bus should also arrive in Plovdiv.
This is not a trolleybus. It's a regular diesel bus. It is fitted with two poles which apply a special product on the overheads to remove frost during winter. Here's a picture of that bus.

Hi, I want you to say, that 15 trolleybuses are in Plovdiv, but this duobus is not here. And I want to ask when it will arrive in Bulgaria, because the winter will come soon.

On 5-th of December will arive 13 trolleybuses MAN from Germany and on 10-th of December will arive 28 canadian trolleybuses.

The bus with trolleybus booms to defrost the overheads left Belgium by road. The bus will arrive by itself driven by someone from the Plovdiv depot. I don't have further informations I'm affraid. The 10 Man trolleybus should be coming from Solingen. If this is the case, this is this sort of vehicles:

If you or anyone else on this forum can make pictures of the Van Hool trolleybus when they will be put into service, I am VERY interrested.

Yes, those are trolleybuses, which will come from Solingen. Some of trolleybuses Van Hool are on trolleybus line 134. They will be presented tomorrow at the Garage "Filipovo" but no one of my colleagues will be there.

I'm not in Plovdiv.

I'm friend with drivers of trolleybuses in Plovdiv.

They know me and we can talk about everything.

The ex-trolleybus from Ghent are Van Hool AG280T.

Hi, I am from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In June 2008, our stupid city council voted to scrap the trolley-bus network by 2010, and then through a haste decision in 2009, our trolley-bus system was shut down abruptly in May. I have learned that as many as 28 trolleys in excellent working condition were purchased by Plovidiv. I am wondering if these classic American style GMC Fishbowl bodied, Brown Broveri electrical system equipped trolleys have been operating in Plovdiv now? Please post some pictures of them. Very much appreciated.
